We are back in the states and have been home for a week, slowly adjusting to our time zones again. Our flights back were mostly uneventful, just the usual entitled travelers shoving their way ahead of everyone else, or the clueless travelers standing in the middle of the moving sidewalk, not allowing anyone to walk by them.
Caroline did all the driving in Greece, but I can tell you my first couple of days back to driving in Ri ch mind, I was so annoyed by traffic lights! I don’t know that we ever really ran across those on the Greek Islands!
A simple sigh of relief was in store when I got home and could flush my TP down the toilet….you can’t do that on the islands. And the simple act of getting water from the tap or the refrigerator is greatly appreciated as well.
For all of the beauty I saw in Greece – the stunningly clear sea, beautiful beaches, hills and mountains dotted with stark white villages – my Irish skin was happy to get home to tree canopy for relief from the sun. Shade was hard to find in Greece.
Caroline and I are already planning our next adventure!
